ARTIST STATEMENT

From pictorials to word portraits or mixed media sculptures, I paint with any media or materials to fulfill the concepts of each piece.  My purpose is to stimulate social change protecting our communities and natural environments of the Earth from destructive practices.

By presenting positive ideas and powerful historic mantras from moments ripe with cultural evolution—and framing these messages with extreme beauty—I strive to emphasize their value in order to inspire humanity to make healthy change.

In my practice, I entwine decorative elements of the Argentine trompe l’oeil effect of Filete Porteño, antique graphics from amusement parks, and vintage psychedelic letterforms. Employing mixed media, I create with cut and carved, painted and gilded, panels of wood and aluminum, found objects and mirrors. With a concentration on craftsmanship and luminosity, my works hold a kinetic charge akin to the reverence of sacred objects and religious icons.
